A lot of buyers and sellers ask us how to determine whether their agent is a good negotiator or not. The easy answer is to see for yourself. Attempt to negotiate with them and see how they do.
You could ask them about their commission and if they would lower it. You want to see how well-prepared they are. If they seem flustered or confused, that’s a bad sign. An even worse sign is if they automatically lower their commission after you ask them once to do so. If they handle their own money with such carelessness, what are they going to do with yours?
